Enjoying Sesame Street Live

When I first learned about Sesame Street Live months ago, I searched furiously to find a show in our area.  When I did that first search, I found that the closest one listed was in Kelowna, six hours away.  Ouch.  I knew that Norton would love to see Elmo in person, but I also knew that six hours in one direction was quite a haul for seeing a kid’s concert.  I was disappointed, but I kept hoping that Sesame Street Live would show up in Prince George.  (But I wasn’t going to hold my breath.)

I saw a Facebook post from one of my former supervisors about early tickets on the day the info was released.  I went nuts, called the husband, and told him we had to take Norton.  I got three tickets within minutes of the tickets being announced.

Our seats were completely fantastic.  Floor seats, fifth row, center section, right along the aisle.  Norton was a bit of a terror when we got to the multiplex since he skipped his nap, so I left the husband to toddler wrangle while I went out and got some Sesame Street swag and some food to keep him occupied during the show.  Once the show started, Norton was transfixed.  There were lots of “Wow!” and much munching of the popcorn.

As for me, I spent a lot of the show taking pictures.  Final count? 466 photos taken.  Here are a few of them:

  1. Good memories: We went to Sesame Street Live twice when respective kids were around kindergarten-age…well worth the time/money. Sesame Street spoiled us for most other kids’ shows in the same way Disney can spoil you for other resorts/amusement parks.

    • If it comes back through PG, we’ll go again. We’re waiting on the theme parks until kids are bigger. 🙂 (Loved Disney World, but I had more fun at Busch Gardens… probably because I knew the park so well that it was really easy to zip around.)
