Cotton Babies Discontinues Colors

Are you a fan of BumGenius or Flip diapers?  If you’re missing a few colors (or just want some extras), now is the time to stock up.  Cotton Babies has announced that some colors are being discontinued.

Cotton Babies Discontinues Colors (Cloth Diaper Addicts)

What’s going away?  Blossom, Butternut, Zinnia, Ribbit, and Lovelace are definitely discontinued.  However, Cotton Babies has a few other colors on their clearance sale, too.  That has me thinking that there’s a good chance that these other colors are also going to go out of print.  Those colors are Oops, Irwin, Albert, and Maathai.  Irwin and Maathai were limited edition colors.  Oops was just that: an Oops that was only available at the Cotton Babies store.  (I’m a little bitter about that one: Cotton Babies does not ship to Canada, so that’s a super rare diaper here.)  Albert and Lovelace were released together, so it only makes sense that they would be closed out at the same time.

It’s not all bad, though.  Ribbit and Butternut have been in the Cotton Babies line up for years now.  In fact, I think Ribbit was around in the days of BumGenius 3.0.  I remember when they brought it back by popular demand when they previously discontinued the color.

Besides, what’s happening in less than two weeks?  The ABC Expo.  Those who are fortunate enough to be there (and I kind of want to hide myself in my husband’s suitcase, as he’ll be in town for another convention at the same time) will get to see the new releases that are coming out first hand.  Cotton Babies will be there, so I suspect that they will have some exciting announcements for new colors.

What are you hoping to see from Cotton Babies?

You can still get these colors at Cozy Bums (Canada), Diaper Junction (US), Kelly’s Closet (US), Kissed by the Moon (US), Lagoon Baby (Canada), and Nicki’s Diapers (US).  Sales have not been announced as of press time.

  1. Eep! I have been wanting the Blossom Flip. Time to finally buy one!

  2. I can’t believe that they are discontinuing Lovelace! That is one of their most popular! And why are they getting rid of ALL the girly stuff? That’s not really fair 🙁 To be honest though, Blossom gets really grey looking after a year of sold use and bleaching according to instructions.

    • To be fair, though, they’ll most likely have new prints that they’ll be announcing in a couple of weeks at the ABC Expo in Vegas. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.

  3. I was kindof disappointed that they retired ribbit but I’ve gotten over it. Lovelace has grown on me, though!

  5. Are Bubble and Sweet discontinued as well?

    • Yup. They were discontinued before this post was written. 🙂

      • I found Bubble at my local Babies R Us and I bought it. I had a feeling it was discontinued but wasn’t sure. I’m glad I got it now, it’s a nice color and gender neutral!
