Microfiber Inserts Saved My Television

Most pocket diapers come with at least one microfiber insert.  Sometimes they even come with two (a small/newborn size and a large/one size insert).  However, not everyone likes to use those microfiber inserts in their diapers.

Still, though, even if you do use microfiber, that second tiny insert is often not the most useful thing ever.  So what do you do with those unused microfiber inserts?Microfiber Inserts Saved My Television (Cloth Diaper Addicts)

Recently, I finally found out.  Norton is a curious little boy who likes to explore and get into things.  Sometimes he finds something he shouldn’t and plays with it because he likes the results.  When he found a spray can of sunscreen in the shelves in the stairwell landing, he was on cloud nine.  In the time it took me to change a fighting Eudora’s diaper, he managed to douse the stairwell, the floor, the walls, and the television.

The television really hurt.  It’s a beautiful Samsung series 7 LCD.  It’s just pretty to look at.

Or at least, it was pretty to look at.  That spray on sunscreen becomes a wax.  When the husband came home and saw it, he was just beside himself.  We started trying to figure out how to take it off.  I called Samsung’s 800 number to ask their tech people… and they were essentially useless.  As much as I hated to do it, I consulted Google.

I found the solution.  I diluted some 99% rubbing alcohol with water in a ramekin dish and pulled out one of those unused microfiber inserts.  I dipped it in the solution and gently buffed my television screen.  It was slow.  It was painstaking.  In the end, though, my television was cleaner than it had been in a while.  I sacrificed two microfiber inserts to the cause, but it was completely and utterly worth it.

Have you ever repurposed your microfiber inserts?  How did you use them?

  4. LOL! We use only microfiber for our Ipads and laptops too! They really are great for cleaning and don’t leave scratches.
