Six Weeks Pregnant and Bloated (TMI throwback post)

I am 6w3d pregnant.

I currently look 6m3w pregnant. (6 months, 3 weeks.)

I am quite, er, “well-endowed”. I’m so bloated that my stomach is sticking out beyond my boobs. I keep trying to go to the bathroom, and it takes 20 minutes to pop out a raisinette. 😛 My tummy is gurgling from gas. It hurts. The nausea is actually being caused, I think, by the backed-up-ness.

I’m supposed to go to a wedding reception with my husband on Saturday. No one knows that I’m pregnant (save for my best friend, but she lives in a different country, so it’s not like she’s going to tell anyone). My husband doesn’t want anyone to know until I’m 8 weeks.

I really, really, REALLY need to not look pregnant in my cute little summer dress.

Does anyone have any magic, yet safe, cures for bloating to the point of blimping?

Originally published on July 30, 2009.  In the end, there was no cure for my bloating…  I just drank a lot of water and sucked in my belly a lot.  Constipation was an ongoing issue throughout my pregnancy.  Suppositories helped when it was really awful.  And our little secret was kept until we were ready for the world to know.  That pregnancy is now a nearly four year old boy named Norton.

    • Yeah, I had the total opposite result. 😛 Go figure. When I’m on metformin, I also have bathroom issues… but the opposite bathroom issues that most people have when they are on it. It’s funny how these things work.

  2. I remember going though that when I was pregnant. That and nausea was not a great combination.

  3. Ugh. Luckily for me, my worst pregnancy symptoms were simply bad bloat and fatigue, but MAN it is not picnic!
