It’s been a huge week in terms of new cloth diaper release announcements! To recap, we’ve got a whole bunch of new cloth diaper prints and colors to choose from. There have been new cloth diaper release announcements from AMP, AppleCheeks, Blueberry, Funky Fluff, and FuzziBunz! [Read more…]
My Facebook feed has been blowing up this morning. The mommy groups, the cloth diapering groups, and my friends list are all talking about the same thing: a mother decided to change the baby at the table in a restaurant. She and her family were booted.
Okay, in all fairness, she didn’t pop her newborn baby on the table and change the diaper right in plain view. She made the decision to put down the change pad and change the baby on the chair at her table. Regardless of how one wants to justify the decision, the baby was changed in the dining area.
So, moving on… I’ll be direct on my feelings on this.
Are you crazy about the new TotsBots Binky diapers (also known as the v4)? I think they’re a pretty amazing diaper, myself… and I’m in love with the new nursery rhyme prints. Now Tots Bots has decided that we need another new print to celebrate Prince George of Cambridge! A year ago, they surprised us with the extremely limited edition Royal Flush. Now we’re getting another diaper: the Tots Bots Birthday diaper!
The Tots Bots Birthday diaper will not be as hard to get as the Royal Flush. (There were only a hundred Royal Flush diapers made. Good luck getting one right now for under a $100 Canadian.) In fact, retailers in North America will be able to get them, too!
The Tots Bots Birthday diaper will be released on July 22, 2014 to celebrate the first birthday of Prince George of Cambridge. However, that release date is for the UK only. They will make it to North American retailers, but the date that they will arrive is uncertain. Please be kind to your local retailer when you’re looking for that one diaper. It’s hard for them, too.
Finally. I had given up all hope on the companion diaper to Audrey coming out before Eudora was housebroken. However, today, Cotton Babies surprised me by sneaking the newest member of the Genius Series past me. They introduced the bumGenius Chaplin print!
The bumGenius Chaplin is available in 4.0, Elemental, Freetime, Flip, and newborn all-in-one. It’s already available in the States at some stores, but only for pre-order at some stores. I don’t know if anyone else has it up for pre-order yet, but you can already pre-order it from Cozy Bums Diapers! (I’ve already pre-ordered mine because, well, I need it.)
As for the bumGenius Chaplin print, I’m okay with it. I neither love it or hate it, but I do think that it’s the perfect companion diaper to Audrey. The Chaplin is available in bumGenius 4.0, Elemental, Freetime, Flip, and newborn.
What do you think? Is the bumGenius Chaplin a genius design?
I’m pretty bummed. What is easily one of my favorite AppleCheeks colors has just been retired. The AppleCheeks Raspberry Sorbet diaper has just been discontinued, so I’m going to put it away in my vault.
It seems like these days, everyone is doing limited edition prints. Yesterday morning, the brand new GroVia limited edition prints were announced.
The animal print is called “Wild Things” and the balloons in the clouds print is called “Up & Away.” The prints are designed by Wee Gallery, a child’s art company that specializes in high contrast designs in order to be more visually and mentally stimulating to little people.
The limited edition GroVia prints be available for purchase on July 7, so they’ll theoretically be at all retailers who are carrying the product in both Canada and the United States. I’m not sure what the price will be in Canada, but they’ll be more in the States: the limited edition GroVia prints are listed at $17.95 (versus $16.95 for the regular shells). I imagine they’ll be a dollar or two more in Canada, too.
You’ll be able to buy the limited edition GroVia prints in hybrid only, though it will be available in both hook and loop and snap closures. Sorry, folks, no newborn sizes or all-in-ones. You’ll also find the prints available in the draw string wet bag and in the pail liner.
I’m completely in love with the Wild Things print and just might have to grab a cover for pics. Which is your favorite?
You’ll be able to find the new limited edition GroVia prints at Cozy Bums!
I’m just amazed. School shootings have become so very common now that there’s no longer a massive debate whenever one happens. It seems that the American media has decided that a school shooting is no longer a massive event that requires a look at gun control, preventing the tragedy, or anything else. Instead of trying to prevent a school shooting, there are creative individuals who are taking matters into their own hands: they are creating school shooting safety devices. [Read more…]
Since the weekend, rumors have been floating around the cloth diaper internet. We’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Tots Bots version 4 diapers for around four months now. There have been delays and hold ups, but the general cloth diapering public has not been informed of the reason behind it. All that we know is that we’re craving our diapers and any time Tots Bots answers a North American consumer online, we’re just told “soon.”
The only information that we’ve been given up until this point is that Bummis is the Tots Bots North American distributor and they would be getting the product in to distribute to cloth diaper stores around the continent. At least, that was the plan. Last week, Bummis and Tots Bots severed their arrangement. Bummis would no longer be the distributor for North America.
So what does this mean for us?
Well, it means that there will be even more delays to getting the Tots Bots v4 into the United States and Canada. Until we have a new North American distributor, Tots Bots will ship directly to retailers (much like Frugi diapers are shipped). Theoretically, Tots Bots will be shipped next week. However, I do say “theoretically” because orders were to be shipped to Bummis “the next week” a month ago.
At this point, I’m just hoping that they get here before I start potty training my daughter; I love the new Tots Bots v4 Frugi diapers and want to use the regular Tots Bots, too. And I don’t want to take advantage of my UK pipeline; I’d rather stick with Cozy Bums, my local retailer.
Are you eagerly awaiting the new Tots Bots v4?
It’s funny. For someone who never breastfed and never wanted to, I’m a pretty fierce breastfeeding rights advocate. This week, though, has been a week where a breastfeeding rights advocate will have a lot to do.
It seems like there’s always someone out there willing to quash another person’s civil liberties. It doesn’t matter if it’s about racial equality, gender equality, marriage equality, or anything else. If it doesn’t apply to them, then no one else should have it because it’s different from (and therefore somehow offensive to) someone else. [Read more…]
