Bummis Flannel Fitted Review

When Bummis introduced their new line of fitted diapers, I was intrigued.  I’m not a huge fan of fitteds as a rule… but I am a huge fan of Bummis.  So when Bear Bums contacted me to review the Bummis Flannel Fitted diaper, I jumped at the chance.

About the Bummis Flannel Fitted Diaper

Like all other Bummis products, the Bummis Flannel Fitted diaper is made in Montreal.  It’s a one size fitted diaper that comes in a variety of prints.  The inner is an organic cotton sherpa inner that is made in the United States.  It’s also designed to have a snap rise and cross over snaps.

Bummis Flannel Fitted Diaper Review

What’s Awesome about the Bummis Flannel Fitted Diaper

Generally, one of the reasons that I hate fitted diapers because I find them to be too bulky on my tiny, tiny daughter.  The Bummis Flannel Fitted Diaper is actually exceptionally trim, even under a cover.  It’s one of the most trim options that I’d ever used.  Since stay dry is also crucial for my Princesa, I also added the Bummis Deluxe Booster (which I got when I bought my Bummis Duo-Brite) with the stay dry side up.

Even with that additional absorbency added, it was still exceptionally trim.

The elastics are quite wide.  The width of the elastic is a good thing for a few reasons.  Wider elastic tends to hold up longer because it has more surface area to give.  And that increased width also means that it’s more surface area against your baby’s skin, so there won’t be the red lines from elastic pressure.  It also means that the diaper is going to be more comfortable.

It’s absorbent, too.  I kept Eudora in the diaper for three hours in effort to really test the diaper out.  She had two sippy cups of milk.  Generally, I change her after each sippy cup.  The Bummis Flannel Fitted diaper managed to cope with her flood.

Then there’s the washing.  There’s nothing synthetic about the absorbent materials in this diaper, which means that it’s super simple to care for.  There’s no risk of microfiber stink.  And it actually dries pretty quickly.  It’s easily the fastest drying fitted diaper I’ve ever used.

What’s Not Awesome about the Bummis Flannel Fitted Diaper

There’s honestly only one thing that I have less love for about the Bummis Flannel Fitted diaper.  There’s a plethora of beautiful prints out there… and while it should be a bonus that there’s so much adorable out there, you don’t actually get to pick.  Bummis Flannel Fitted diaper are sold in girl, boy, and gender neutral.  I get that the logistics are so they don’t have to do a stock image for each print, it means more variety and change, etc… but it also makes them harder to know what’s out there.

The Bottom Line

I love this diaper.  It’s the first time that a fitted has been trim enough to go under jeans.  It’s made in Canada.  It doesn’t take all day to dry.  At $25.95 Canadian, it’s a little on the expensive side, but it’s a Bummis product.  That means that it’s totally worth it.
