Tots Bots Birthday Release – Coming Soon!

Are you crazy about the new TotsBots Binky diapers (also known as the v4)?  I think they’re a pretty amazing diaper, myself… and I’m in love with the new nursery rhyme prints.  Now Tots Bots has decided that we need another new print to celebrate Prince George of Cambridge!  A year ago, they surprised us with the extremely limited edition Royal Flush.  Now we’re getting another diaper: the Tots Bots Birthday diaper!

Tots Bots Birthday Diaper - Cloth Diaper AddictsThe Tots Bots Birthday diaper will not be as hard to get as the Royal Flush.  (There were only a hundred Royal Flush diapers made.  Good luck getting one right now for under a $100 Canadian.)  In fact, retailers in North America will be able to get them, too!

The Tots Bots Birthday diaper will be released on July 22, 2014 to celebrate the first birthday of Prince George of Cambridge.  However, that release date is for the UK only.  They will make it to North American retailers, but the date that they will arrive is uncertain.  Please be kind to your local retailer when you’re looking for that one diaper.  It’s hard for them, too.

Daily Cute Fluffy Bum – Frugi by Tots Bots

ladybird-frugi-totsbotsToday’s cute fluffy bum model might be camera shy, but her cuteness can’t be hidden!  This little princess is modeling a Frugi by Tots Bots in Ladybug.  Frugi is a UK clothing company that has partnered with Tots Bots for some wickedly cute diapers.  There are some downsides, though: 1.) they are only in Velcro and 2.) they’re pretty hard to find!  On the bright side, though, I do know where to get them in North America:

New Cloth Diapers from Best Bottom and Tots Bots!

Whenever there’s an announcement of new cloth diapers being launched, I feel equal parts excited and down.  I’m thrilled because there will potentially be some cute new cloth diapers on the way to my stash!  I’m down because I really don’t need to add any other new cloth diapers to my stash.  This week, both Tots Bots and Best Bottom have announced new prints that they are adding to their line up. Bummis Diapers Gives Fantastic Service

Bummis Diapers Gives Fantastic Service (Cloth Diaper Addicts)

Thanks to Bummis, this was quickly resolved.

When it comes to warranties and returns, I’m fairly lazy.  I don’t go to the post office.  There’s no mail drop near my house.  In fact, I think we’ve mailed exactly one thing since Christmas, and that was a friend’s cloth diaper package.  I’ve had some cloth diapers that I needed to do a warranty claim on, and I’d been putting it off for months.  I finally decided I’d better get it done before the warranty expired.  Bummis diapers was my first target.

I had bought a Tots Bots Easy Fit diaper in August.  At some point, the fabric got a run on the male side of a snap.  Since those diapers are pretty tough on the snaps, I pulled it out of my rotation because I knew that it was only going to get worse.  On March 6, I finally got my act together and filled out the warranty claim form on the Bummis diapers website.  I heard back from them on March 7 to let me know that my warranty claim was approved.  On March 14, I received my replacement diaper.

You’d think that would be the end of it, and I’d be elated with the speedy service that I’d received from Bummis Diapers.  You’d be wrong.  There’s more.  That diaper was the wrong closure: I’d received a Velcro style instead of snaps.  So I emailed.

I figured that this was it.  I was going to have to suck it up and make a trip to the post office to return that diaper.  I figured wrong.  The very next day, I got an email back from Bummis Diapers.  Naomi told me to keep that Aplix diaper as a gift from Bummis and she’d send the correct diaper out in the next day’s mail.

Whoa.  That’s some pretty impressive customer service.  To put it in context, in the time that it took me to actually get the replacement Tots Bots Easy Fit back from Bummis diapers, I only received a form letter telling me that my warranty with another very large company was approved and to please mail them the defective diapers.

I’ve always loved the fact that Bummis diapers are made in Canada and that Tots Bots are made in Scotland.  Now?  I’m loving the customer service that I get from them even more.

Have you ever had to warranty out a cloth diaper?  What was your experience like?

Cloth Diapers – Best and Worst for Poo (Part II)

Yesterday, I put up a list for the best and worst cloth diapers for poo.  However, it got a little long, so I decided to split it into three parts before it became one huge tl;dr.  (Too long; didn’t read.)  Here’s the second parts!

Blueberry cloth diapersBlueberry cloth diapers

Blueberry cloth diapers are another wonderful, all around cloth diaper.  I love the beautiful prints, the angled snaps and the fact that I can stuff them to make them a fantastic overnight cloth diapering solution for Norton.  They won’t necessarily contain the scariest poops ever, but they are remarkably easy to clean, much like FuzziBunz and BumGenius.

Bummis prefold cloth diapers

Bummis prefolds and covers

Cleaning from the prefold is no problem, depending on the fold.  You just pick it up and spray.  Cleaning the covers?  Meh.  It’s got that same “be careful or the water will seriously bounce back at you” issue that I find to be common with the majority of covers out there.

TotsBots Easy Fit

This is just an “okay” diaper for poop.  It catches okay, and it rinses okay.  The only worry is that I have to be careful which end I hold the diaper to spray so that the all-in-one tongue doesn’t fall out.  For Norton, this is not an issue, but since Eudora poops up the back, there are times that poo actually gets in the little space above the pocket.  Gross.  Still a great diaper that has its advantages!

Now we’re starting to get into the “please don’t poop in these cloth diapers!” collection.  I love my BumGenius Freetime diapers.  They’re effective.  They’re easy to use.  They hold poop as well as the BumGenius 4.0.  But I hate cleaning them.  They’re an all-in-one diaper and the flaps kind of… well, flap when I try to clean one.  I seem to end up with either the poop oozing under the flaps or the wrong flap on top for poop purposes.

Stay tuned for the rest of the list tomorrow!  Which cloth diapers do you find to be the most poop friendly?
